What is the most important thing in the world to God?

You might be saying to yourself, ‘How could anyone know the answer to that question?’ Yet we can clearly know the answer to this question through the way God showed His love for us.

Jesus told His disciples in the Gospel of John, chapter 15 verse 13; “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for a friend”.

Who would do that, you might say? God would and He did. The Bible tells us in Romans, chapter 5 verse 8; “But God demonstrated His love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Why did He have to die? The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. This means we cannot approach a holy God with our sin because it separates us from Him. This is why Jesus died for our sins, because it is impossible for sinful man to pay the debt for his own sin.

God loves us so much He shed His blood on the cross in order that we might have an opportunity to know Him and live in a loving relationship with Him. Jesus paid the debt for our sins that we could not pay!

The words of the great Hymn, “Rock of Ages” puts it well:

So what is the most important thing to God? The answer is you. God has proven His love towards you!

This is a love beyond compare!

The Bible speaks a lot about God’s love for us. In the Gospel of John, chapter 3 verse 16 we read; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life”

Now the question is, what is the most important thing in the world to you? Do you want to know God in a personal way? Do you want to experience His love?

How can you know His love? Again the Bible tells us in Romans chapter 10 verse 9, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”.

If you would like to make decision to accept the forgiveness God has offered you then the Bible speaks clearly the way to know Him.

1. Turn from your sins and ask God to forgive you for all your wrongs against Him and accept His forgiveness. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9)
2. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that what Jesus has done is for you. (Romans 10:9)
3. Become a disciple of Jesus. Jesus said in Matthew’s Gospel, chapter sixteen verse twenty-four; “Then Jesus said unto His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me”.
4. Read the Bible and pray that God would teach you how to follow Him.
5. Find a church that loves Jesus, teaches the Bible, and attend it regularly.
6. Tell others about what Jesus has done for you and that Jesus loves them too!
7. LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, SOUL, MIND AND STRENGTH!!!

The most important thing in the world to God is you…and you were created to know Him. You can search the world over but you will never find true satisfaction in anything else but God!
